Orthotics

Orthotics are specialist insoles, arch supports and other devices worn by people to help with a number of foot conditions. Flat feet, feet with extremely high arches, feet that roll inwards or outwards, runners suffering with shin splints and a whole host of other foot issues can be helped with the correct orthotics.

Biomechanics Assessment

An assessment of how a patient walks, stands and their general posture is the first part of determining if orthotic insoles would be beneficial to them. Specialist insoles can range from a simple arch support to complex, moulded insoles which address multiple issues within the foot. Walking (or running) incorrectly can, not only to foot discomfort, but also to leg, knee, hip, back and neck pain as well as injuries for those who take part in sporting activities

Biomechanics Appointment
 

The Biomechanics appointment starts with a history being taken from the patient followed by assessment of gait and stading position / posture, examination of the feet and advice on which type of insoles are required. The appointment also includes a pair of the required insoles which may be further adjusted at two,  follow up appointments.


The cost for this service, including the insoles and the follow up visits is
£145.00
